New York Times - Style Section

Most of you probably saw the New York Times Style section for July 3rd:  it contained a notice of our boys' wedding.

For a more in-town experience, this hotel has a great location right on the Charles River; it is a mile from Harvard Square and a half-hour walk to Boston’s famed Fourth of July fireworks celebration.  The hotel has restaurants, an indoor pool, a deck overlooking the Charles and shuttle service to public transportation.  ($129/night + $15/night for parking, if you make reservations by June 10)

From the Massachusetts Turnpike (Interstate 90) East

• Take Exit 18 (Allston/Cambridge).
• Pass through the tollbooth and bear right onto Cambridge Street ramp.
• At end of ramp go straight through lights and pass over Charles River bridge.
• After bridge, turn right onto Memorial Drive. The Radisson is 1/10 mile on the left.

Directions to Springstep and Amerisuites

From the West

1. Follow Massachusetts Turnpike (Interstate 90) east into Boston.
2. After two sets of tollbooths, bear left onto Exit 24B – Route 93 North.
3. You will pass through a long tunnel and over the Leonard Zakim Bridge.
4. Follow directions from the south or north immediately below.

From the South or North

1. Follow Route 93 to Exit 32 (Route 60 - Medford Square) and enter rotary.
2. From the south, go ¾ of the way around rotary and onto Route 60 West (Medford Square, Arlington); from the north, take first right onto Route 60 West. This is Salem Street.
3. Take first left after traffic light onto River Street at Medford Wine and Spirits.
4. At end of street, turn left onto Riverside Avenue and get into right-hand lane.
5. At first light turn left onto Clipper Ship Drive. Amerisuites is on the corner.
6. Enter parking lot on right; Amerisuites is on the right and Springstep is the glass building on the left. (Parking is also available in City Hall lot across the street.)

Springstep Vicinity

An overhead view of Springstep, showing the AmeriSuites Hotel. Route 93 runs north/ south along the right edge of the frame.  Medford City Hall is large example of mid-20th century municipal architorture with a cupola and white columns, an unmistakable landmark for taxi drivers and bleary eyed drivers.

You can see that AmeriSuites is just a tiptoe away from Springstep: the parking lots are easily navigable, even in high heels.
